 Hello Saturday!

This week has been a little crazy for me - my schedule was a little out of sync from my norm so I had a hard time sneaking in time to CREATE! Not to mention, the weather has just been gorgeous and the last thing I want to do is stay in a stuffy craft room in the afternoon!

So needless to say, my mojo has been a little subpar for the past few days... But no worries - I've identified the problem and I'm going to try and adjust accordingly. Hopefully, I can get back ahead of the crafty game!

Here's my card today:

I thought I'd make another card to have on hand. It seems as though a lot of gals I know are expecting babies! I just realized that I'd better get a move on and bust out some baby cards!

This is actually one of my favorite Bella stamps - I got it from a friend. I've found that Bella images sometimes can be a challenge to color, though - especially with their small surface area. But it's nice to challenge myself sometimes.

I'm totally in LOVE withe colors of the paper... This whole card, minus the image, was actually made from an old TE Key Ingredients kit... *sigh* I still have a ton of old kits to work through. They're all stacked in my craft room. I keep telling myself that if I can get through at least half of them, I can resubscribe to the monthly kit program... A girl can wish, right??? But hey, at the rate I'm creating, I might actually surprise myself!

my first joy-fold card

Hi there!

Have you ever heard of a joy-fold card? Maybe you have, maybe you haven't. I'm on the side that hadn't... until I decided to play along with this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.

I watched this You Tube video to get the idea and here's my card...

And here's the view from the side to see that it's actually a joy-fold card.

The card was actually fairly simple and quick to make! And that totally surprised me since it looked like it was more complicated.

I'm actually a huge fan of this type of folded card.

I foresee making a bunch more of these in my future. :)

The other day I got to sneak in some crafty time... I've got a project scheduled for every day this weekend. I'm so excited to share them with you. :)

Here's the first:

I colored this image while hanging out with my mom at the hospital a couple weeks ago... Believe me - I spent so much time there, I got a LOT of images colored. Not to worry, though, she's doing fine.

I made this card with a bunch of scraps from old TE Key Ingredients Kits and based it off of this week's sketch challenge at Card Patterns.

I just realized that I'm doing pretty good with keeping this blog updated daily (minus that one pesky day last week when I couldn't log in to post because of the personal stuff going on at home...but don't worry, it's all good in the 'hood now and we're back in business!)

Anyway, I was going through some old images I had received through an image swap and came across this Bella and decided to get her on a card.

I'm really trying to create cards that have sentiments that are well used - birthday ones, thank yous, congratulations, etc... It's hard to make cards with a "Happy Summer" sentiment - I don't know who to give those cards to! *lol*

Anyway, I thought this adorable Bella was perfect for a card to have on hand. And I colored her drink green because apple martinis are my favorite! *sigh* Sadly, I haven't had one in YEARS. It's been a while, a long while, since I've had a cocktail.

Well, no challenge card today, just a simple card I made for my "cousin"'s daughter who graduated from college about a month ago. Yesterday was her graduation party, but because of a conflict with some previous plans we were unable to make it... And top that with the fact that my kiddos are still not feeling 100%, we all just stayed home.

(However, this Mama was able to go to the New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys concert last night - the tickets were expensive. I wasn't about to miss it! - if I can I'll post a recap another day!)

But I digress...

I thought I'd keep the card super simple. I love this sentiment stamp set so much - it's one of my favorites. I like using them on cards that don't have a huge image. I think the stamp speaks for itself. :)

adventures in my craft room + CPS challenge #224

Hi there!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday and I've been back home almost a week! Time defnitely flies!

I've been having some SERIOUS mojo going on, so I've also been able to do a little bit of papercrafting (go me!). I've got a card to share:

True story: I had this image of TGF's Cheeky Mate colored on my craft desk a couple of weeks ago. THAT alone should teach me a lesson since J & M LOVE playing in there. Well I forgot that I had some stuff out (I usually try and be good and put stuff away, but sometimes a girl gets lazy!) and J came running to me, telling me that M was playing with my "facebook" - it's what he calls my craft room or anything crafty. *lol* I didn't pay attention to him because by then M had left the room.

Well, she got a hold of one of my Copic markers (!) and scribbled all over my newly-colored Cheeky Mate image! Ack! Thankfully, she colored the BACKSIDE of the paper and not the front and none of it seeped through. WHEW!

Lesson learned: put away everything no matter how tired and lazy I am!

Anyway, I made this card just to have on hand. This adorable image is still one of my very favorite Cheeky TGF images and totally got my mojo going again!

Happy Birthday Ady! + a haul video

Good Morning, everyone!

I honestly don't remember how Ady and I "met". I think we met at the old messageboard that used to be Scrap In Style TV... Anyway, it doesn't matter how we met, just that we're friends now. We live on opposite coasts, but we still manage to be scrappy pals over these last couple of years. Wish we lived closer so we could scrap together ALL the time! :)

So yesterday was Ady's birthday and I wanted to send her a card. I had to time it just right and hopefully, she gets it in the mail today... I meant to send it on Tuesday so she could get it on her actual birthday, but I couldn't get to the mailbox in time. So with any luck she gets it today. (Ady, if you didn't stop looking now! *lol*)

I decided to use one of my newest TGF stamps Cheeky Mate from the Cheeky Cherry Collection. She may be one of my favorite images from TGF right now. She's super fun to color and I just love how she's just sitting there all sassy. :) I used mostly my old May Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit and the sentiment is from PTI.

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past July Blog Hop!

Hello again, everyone, and welcome to my stop on the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past July Blog Hop! This is my 3rd time participating in these awesome blog hops and I'm loving every minute of it! They're so much fun and I really love ANY excuse to use my TE stamps!

For today's blog hop, we had the option of creating a card using a sketch by the awesome Sankari Wegman:

And here's my take on it... Notice I didn't use ANY ribbon - HUGE accomplishment for me! *lol*

AND, I even created an INSIDE to it!

For my card I used the newest Summertime Project Pantry kit. I really love the bright, fun colors of this one and thought it would be awesome to pair it with TE's Doctor's Orders stamps. It should brighten anyone's day if they're they're feeling under the weather, right?

Lawn Fawn Loveliness + video! :)

Have you heard of Lawn Fawn?

I can't remember how I came to hear of Lawn Fawn, but I'm so glad I did. I remember seeing a couple of adorable cards my gal Ayana created using the Sew Lovely set and I knew I had to check them out!

Here are a couple cards I made using their stamps:

I just loved using their Partly Cloudy set! The umbrella is just too cute and the sentiment is so clever to go with it! I also used the raindrop stamp image to create a background to my card. Super fun!

Here's another card:

This card uses the Sew Lovely set. I'm a daughter of a seamstress so this set really spoke to me! I LOVE the dressform and instead of reaching for my Copics, I paperpieced the image instead. I really love how it came out!
