 Hello Saturday!

This week has been a little crazy for me - my schedule was a little out of sync from my norm so I had a hard time sneaking in time to CREATE! Not to mention, the weather has just been gorgeous and the last thing I want to do is stay in a stuffy craft room in the afternoon!

So needless to say, my mojo has been a little subpar for the past few days... But no worries - I've identified the problem and I'm going to try and adjust accordingly. Hopefully, I can get back ahead of the crafty game!

I thought I'd make another card to have on hand. It seems as though a lot of gals I know are expecting babies! I just realized that I'd better get a move on and bust out some baby cards!

This is actually one of my favorite Bella stamps - I got it from a friend. I've found that Bella images sometimes can be a challenge to color, though - especially with their small surface area. But it's nice to challenge myself sometimes.

I'm totally in LOVE withe colors of the paper... This whole card, minus the image, was actually made from an old TE Key Ingredients kit... *sigh* I still have a ton of old kits to work through. They're all stacked in my craft room. I keep telling myself that if I can get through at least half of them, I can resubscribe to the monthly kit program... A girl can wish, right??? But hey, at the rate I'm creating, I might actually surprise myself!

I'm back with another card to share. I've been really paying attention to what motivates me to create and get crafty. I've discovered that it's a few things:

1. Finding the time to actually SIT and do something uninterrupted.
2. Participating in challenges. As a kid I grew up going on trips to Reno & the racetrack. It's in my blood to try my chances and win something!
3. My awesome craft room. :)
4. New product to play with. (but ugh... there goes the crafting budget!)
5. Design team work... I'm not on any at the moment, but keep your fingers crossed for me!

I've had this image in my stash for a while. I received it in an image swap a while back and since I haven't colored any Bellas in a while, I thought it was about time I started mixing in up. I really really loved the balloons on this image and wantted them to stand out - hope my Copic skills are getting better!

I'm also loving TWINE! I want spools and spools of it in my craft room! It's my latest favorite go-to item! :)

I just realized that I'm doing pretty good with keeping this blog updated daily (minus that one pesky day last week when I couldn't log in to post because of the personal stuff going on at home...but don't worry, it's all good in the 'hood now and we're back in business!)

Anyway, I was going through some old images I had received through an image swap and came across this Bella and decided to get her on a card.

I'm really trying to create cards that have sentiments that are well used - birthday ones, thank yous, congratulations, etc... It's hard to make cards with a "Happy Summer" sentiment - I don't know who to give those cards to! *lol*

Anyway, I thought this adorable Bella was perfect for a card to have on hand. And I colored her drink green because apple martinis are my favorite! *sigh* Sadly, I haven't had one in YEARS. It's been a while, a long while, since I've had a cocktail.

I've got some fabulous news I want to share with you all but I'm not sure if I have the green light to do so yet, so I'm going to have to keep you waiting! I'm mean like that, huh?

Today's card feature's the super cute calliope Ketto from Stamping Bella! I just love this stamp - I just wish there was more area to cover with my Copics! *lol*

Did anyone take advantage of the 10% off sale over at Stamping Bella using the code SPRING10 when you checkout? (I think it ends tonight... And no I don't design for them either - I just love deals, remember?)

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to shop. I have to be really good! I realize that there's NO WAY I can cut cold turkey from purchasing new stamps and supplies. I think the more I restrain myself, the MORE I WANT to spend! So instead, I need to put myself on a really tight budget. and WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN. I think that will help. I just need to figure out how much I want to set aside for my crafting... and how much I want to set aside I want to set aside for my other hobbies like going to Target, buying new purses, new makeup or new clothes for the kids. *lol*

Anyway, gotta make this short today - I'm going to try and be brave and go to Target with the 2 kids - haven't done that yet! - by myself. Wish me luck!

Hello Monday!

Is it me or does it feel like the weekend just goes by TOO fast?! Who wants to take a vote and make a weekends 4 days instead of two?!

I shouldn't complain, I know, being that my work week is only 2-3 12-hour shifts (at night, mind you!). But still, weekends are weekends and they're so VERY precious. I just looked at my calendar and we have something going on every weekend we have off until the month of May! I told my DH that and he just groaned at me today. I don't blame him. *lol*

Today's card features this sweet little Gertie from the Lulu collection at Stamping Bella. (Eek! Looking at this image makes me realize I need to reink my Memento ink pad! *lol*)

And it features my favorite green combo of Copics - YG03, YG07, YG17. I don't know what I'd ever do without them!

Anyway, have to make this quick today... We're off to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with the family today! Jonah is excited to see Nemo and Dory. *lol*

Isn't this madeline Ketto super cute? I must admit, I don't have many Kettos in my Stamping Bella collection. But I think all of the Ketto and Lulu images are SO cute. The Bellas are cute too, but I think my favorites are the Kettos and Lulus. Adorable! I got this image in a swap with my very best bestie. It's so nice to have a BFF who shares the same passion for paper crafts as I do! We always joke around that only WE can understand each other's love of this hobby - it can be a good thing: we motivate each other. But it can also be a BAD thing: We ENABLE each other. *lol*

Anyway, I also made this card with TE's December Key Ingredients kit. I should really start taking note of how many card I make with each month's kit! I wonder if it's "worth" it to me... Something to think about - definitely!

Hi all!

It's been forever since I've participated in a challenge, it seems. I finally got a chance to! Yippee!

This card is based off of this week's sketch over at Card Patterns (Sketch 51). I don't use many hearts so I decided to do a little tweaking and instead used circles. I used my maisy Ketto stamp from Stamping Bella for the first time, too!

I have a confession to make! I stamped this image in Memento's Rich Cocoa ink by accident! I meant to stamp it in Tuxedo Black, but I grabbed the wrong ink pad! *lol* I stamped it and wondered why it looked so pale. And then I realized that it was in BROWN not BLACK! Oops! My bad!

I DO like how it turned out though. I didn't have a hard time coloring her with my Copics and actually, I think she looks pretty cool. The rest of the card is made with TE's January KI kit. I just added some Diamond Stickles and some linen thread. The sentiment is from SU's Chit Chat rub-ons set and I punched it out with my Modern Label punch.

my first Lulu card

I guess I showed restraint long enough... I added a few new Stamping Bella images to my rubber collection!

I actually didn't purchase any Bellas with my order - I think I mainly stuck with Lulus and Kettos. I STILL think they're quite pricey for being unmounted rubber and the area to cover with Copics is quite small... But maybe that's just me....

Anyway, I decided to create a thank you card... I've always been a believer that you can never have too many thank you cards on hand!

I made this card a couple weeks ago for a sketch challenge (forgive me, I forget which one!), but the first pic of it came out fuzzy and it's been a CRAZY couple of weeks that I never got a chance to retake it! But anyway, here it is... The CS and DP is from TE's October Key Ingredients kit. The sentiment is from SU!

Totally off topic, but who watches the Amazing Race??? It's getting down to the wire and I'm excited to see who will stay and who will go... I actually can't pick a favorite this year... Every team has their annoying quirks - I usually love going for the underdog....
