Sketchy Friday Challenge #12!

Hey y'all!

Happy Friday! It's time for another fun-filled sketch for you over at Sketchy Friday! Sonia never ceases to amaze me with all of her fabulous sketches! I think if it weren't for her, I'd still be making A2 cards with one piece of patterned paper to cover the front, one strip of cardstock as an accent and one sentiment. *lol*

Thank goodness for SKETCHES!

Anyway, on to my card for the week...

Ok, so isn't Moses the Monkey super ADORABLE? I actually got to name this little guy. When Sonia asked, what should we name him? I just thought of Moses. *lol* He looks like a Moses, don't you think?

I colored him up with my Copics, as well as the branch and leaves. And instead off leaving the branch colored I added a bit of washi tape and X-acto knife'd around it to make the branch to look like wood. Pretty clever, if I do say so myself! :)

Sketchy Friday Challenge #10

Happy Friday, everyone!

It's time for another fabulous sketch over at Sketchy Friday! Pardon my absence a couple of weeks ago - I'm in the process of moving my scrap room into a tinier space and in the process, I lost all of the fabulous SKdigi images I had colored! I was SO proud of myself, too! I thought I was ahead of the game! But then they got lost and unfortunately, I got behind with  making cards.

Anyway, onto my card, right?

So I totally was going to make a St. Patrick's Day card, but I thought to myself, I don't really give St. Patrick's Day cards to people! *lol* So SPRING card it is! It ended up working out perfectly - this is a great card to just have on hand when you need to send someone a nice pick-me-up in the mail. :)

Sketchy Friday Challenge #6

So, I had a card process video for this card... And it's card #3 in my Valentine's card making series... BUT, I accidentally put the SD card in the CD slot of our iMac! Who had the bright idea to put both slots next to each other on the side of the monitor?! So needless to say, I'm really pissed. The card can't be retrieved (by me or my husband) and I have to take the darn thing to the Apple Store on Monday. :( I'm so bummed.

Anyway, what do you think of this card?! Super cute for Valentine's day, right? I love this adorable piggie image - they're so CUTE and in LOVE!

And yay for using what I've recently purchased - these hearts were on sale/clearance at Michaels and I got them for $0.50!

Sketchy Friday #2

Good morning, everyone!

I'm super excited to share with you all my first card I've created for my DT stint over at Sketchy Friday - you may remember from this post where I announced the good news. :)

Anyway, the DT is split into two teams where each team takes turns with the weekly sketches. It makes it easy on us as DT members, but it also gives everyone a chance to try something fresh and fun!

Here's what I've created for the sketch this week:

So for my card today, I used the ADORABLE Chicks digi from SKdigis. They're super CUTE, don't you think? I added the little heart punch out above them because initially I wanted to make it a Valentine's card, but my stash had other ideas. *lol* But I REALLY love the way my card turned out!

SK Digis November Release!

Hi everyone!

Are you all recovered from Halloween???

We took J & M trick-or-treating and they enjoyed it for the most part. M was a bit tired toward the end and was starting to be afraid of all the spooky decorations some of the neighbors put up. I guess when you're 3 1/2 years old, Halloween can be quite scary, don't you think?

Anyway, welcome to my blog - It's the 1st of November and there's a new release at SKdigis! Sonia has really created some ADORABLE images that you don't want to miss!

I couldn't wait to play with this super cute T-rex!

Ok, so I created a quick little You Tube video showcasing my card for you today!

But if you don't want to sit through it (it's really short, I promise!), I'll explain my process.... I wanted to create another scenic card - my favorite! And I remembered that one of my Cricut carts had a volcano on it - Create a Critter! I used my Gypsy for the SECOND time this week and "hid" the little face on the volano - I didn't think it belonged. *lol* So the dinosaur is in the "land before time" with volcanoes, blue skies, and yes, grass. :) clever right?

Love how Sonia's digis lend themselves to really cute scenic cards! :)

SKdigis Challenge #6 - Create a Circle Shaped Card!

Hi All!

It's time for another awesome challenge from SKdigis! This week we're asking you to create a circle shaped card using an SKdigis image!

Sounds simple enough, right? :) Hope so, because we're totally inviting you all to play along!

Here's my card for this week!

supplies: CS: Bazzill, Recollections, Neenah; digi stamp: Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness kit (SKdigis); ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Tea Dye Distress Ink (Ranger); Scallop Circle Card, large circle (Cricut Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge); oval punch (SU!); sentiment: Bras Vol. 3 (Skipping Stones Design); other: twine, Pearl Pen, Copic Markers

So, I kind of struggled a bit with this card. Circles are just a challenge for me! And since I'm trying to utilize my Cricut more, I decided to use the Birthday Bash cartridge to create my shapes! Easy peasy!

I also was inspired by Sonia's fabulous Breast Cancer Awareness kit and wanted to use the little girl - she reminds me a little bit of M. :) AND she's wearing a little badge that says "I wear pink for my grandma." - totally appropriate since my mom has been a Breast Cancer survivor for 17 years!

SKdigis Challenge - Fangtastic Embossing with MONSTERS!

Is it just my kids or do all kids go through this "monster phase?"

Thankfully, my kids aren't afraid of monsters (unless they're the super scary, ugly ones!). They love watching Scooby Doo and they love playing around with my Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge. They also love drawing monsters - on the sidewalk and on paper!

So this challenge over at SKdigis is super fun and right up their alley. They love this card!

This week, Team B is creating cards using embossing - wet or dry, and one of Sonias adorable monster images. Check mine out:

Isn't the Monster #3 image super cute? He was super challenging to color, but he was also super fun! Yay for using my Copic markers again! :) I wanted to create a scenic card (it's been a while!) so I made a card that kind of reminded me of a monster coming out right when the sun sets but the moon is up. Twilight? I think that's what it's called. *lol*

But I do think that he's absolutely TOO cute to be scary, don't you?

SKdigis Challenge #2: Black & White +1!

Hi everyone!

This week I decided to use Sonia's super cute Zoo Zebra digi - I know, I know. I used an obvious black and white image, but I figured the green would make the card pop more! I also used my burlap embossing folder to give the card some texture - and YAY for using something in my stash I haven't used before!
