M's Preschool Class Layouts

Hi everyone!

Just checking in from the world of Mommyhood v3.0. *lol* I'm hoping that with 2 of the 3 kids in school at the same time 3 days a week and L still being a newborn, I'll have some quiet moments to myself to catch up on the dear, old blog.

I was going through some old posts and realized I hadn't posted the layouts I completed as "scrapbook mom" for both of my kids preschool classes last school year. At the beginning of the year at the preschool there are roles you can sign up for - I usually sign up for the "scrapbook mom" job, because, well let's face it, it's what I do. :) And you may remember THIS post from last year when I did it for J's preschool class' layouts. So yay for me.

Anyway, here are the two layouts for M's 2 year old class:

 

Aww, looking back on these layouts make me smile! Seven of the ten kids are in her preschool class this year. They all look so small and tiny in these pics! It's crazy!

rediscovering my "style"...

Hey y'all!

I've got another layout to share with you today... Yep, it's another post from me this week! Eek, super exciting right?

So I've been trying to rediscover my "style" when it comes to scrapbooking. Sometimes it's hard because I follow so many scrapbooker blogs and while I think that all of their work is fabulous, sometimes their style is just not ME... Although, I try to incorporate bits and pieces into my work too...

Like, I love:

Ali Edwards and her storytelling approach.... but she uses a lot of muted tones and journals a TON. I don't have the time. And I love color!

Cathy Zielske has a awesome eye for graphic design. Love how she's simple. But she's super into using her computer and I don't have my computer next to my scrap space to do both.

Nichole Magourik uses her Silhouette like nobody's business! I love how she incorporates die cuts into her layouts without them being too much for a page. But again, I don't have my computer handy when I scrap so this doesn't really work for me - although I would like it to!

Susan Weinroth has such bright and fun layouts and pictures! I want to take pics like her and blog about them the way she does! Her layouts always are so fun!

and my latest love is Nancy Damiano. She doesn't blog very often, but when she does she blows me away. She is one of the Garden Girls at Two Peas and I joined her Scrapbooking Family Vacations class (for the ideas) and I'm just in awe of everything. She really has a way with bright colors, playing around with different product, telling the story, and just getting everything to just WORK. Love it.

So those are a handful of ladies I just admire. And while I know that their styles aren't mine, I'd like to think I take a piece of each of theirs and create my own. And that's what scrapbooking is about, right? :)

Hey all,

Summer has been busy, hasn't it? I'm telling you, when I'm pregnant, I have not motivation to do anything - I never feel like cooking and I really don't feel like sitting at the computer blogging. So, I apologize for my infrequent posts! Now that J started school on Wednesday (more about that later!), I have a tiny bit more time so I'm hoping to return to the blog world SOON.

So, I'm 28 weeks along tomorrow. Officially in the 3rd trimester! I can hardly believe it! This pregnancy is definitely the fastest of the three - I've been saying it all along. I felt bigger sooner, I felt movement sooner, etc. I'm trying to cherish all the little milestones that happen with pregnancy since this will likely be our last one, but it's hard when I feel so tired all the time! And I'm NOT going to miss running to the bathroom every hour!

I've been motivated to scrap - probably because I've been adding to my supply lately! hahaha And I've been trying to create a layout once a week... Here's one I created a couple weeks ago:

I used a premade kit by Basic Grey that I picked up at Tuesday Morning back in June. It creates 3 layouts and I got it for only $4! I'm usually terrible with pre-made kits, but I thought I'd use it!

I also used another storyboard by Kerri Bradford for my pictures. I seriously love using multpile pics on a layout but printing it out one time. Talk about easy!

I have a TON of pics to scrap before this baby is born, but let's be real: when does any scrapbooker feel caught up? haha

I'm just enjoying scrapbooking again and I really can't wait to start getting layouts into pages!

Hey all,

I've been going through my scrap room and trying to purge some supplies I haven't used in a while. It's a pretty cathartic experience, I tell ya! But I must admit, 15 years of scrapping supplies is DEFINITELY hard to sift through. And the Virgo-hoarder in me is always asking myself, "Wait, I might need that someday " or "Wait, I might USE that someday." *sigh* But I figure, if I haven't used it in over a year, looked at it in over 2 years, or even forgot I ever had it, I probably won't use it, right?

Yup, that's what I keep having to tell myself.

Anyway, I got a change to scrap another layout:

I took a couple of Amy Tan's classes a while back and she's always saying, yes, you may love your products and want to hoard it all, but what good is all that stuff if you don't USE it? Rub-ons don't rub anymore. Thickers lose their tackiness. Glue dries up. So, USE it all and love what you use it on.

So I used some of the extra goodies from one of her classes, added it to the Hambly (the bicycle paper) I picked up at their warehouse closing sale, included some Thickers I had in my stash (they weren't sticky anymore so I had to use glue dots!), and even misted a bit with some of my Tattered Angels mists.

Voila, I have a page!

Oh and I'm all sorts of in love with Kerri Bradford's Storyboards and other picture templates. She's totally revolutionizing my scrapbooking world. I can still create a one page layout but add multiple pictures without the guesswork. Super awesomesauce.

I scrapped recently. Can you believe it?

One Saturday morning a few weeks ago, I sat at the computer and created this little beauty.

I found this awesome little (and FREE!) template, "Blueprint #12" by Gennifer Bursett over at Design House Digital and really wanted to use it (I have a thing for hexagons right now!) so I gathered an old digi scrap kit by Audrey Neal and went to town. I had gotten that kit thinking I'd scrap more pregnancy and baby stuff for when I was preggo with M but it never happened.

But I'm glad I have baby #3 to have a good excuse now!

I was even brave enough to upload it to the DHD gallery and Blueprint challenge for the month of June. I can't find an announcement anywhere, but imagine my surprise when I received an email from Gennifer saying I won and I won a $10 to DHD!

Maybe I should scrap more often!

Project Life || Week 7

Oh Project Life, why have you foresaken me???

Week 7. SEV-EN. What week are we on in 2012? FIFTEEN??? *sigh* I'm wondering when or IF I'll ever be caught up.

Life is crazy sometimes...

Anyway, on to my week:

Nothing extravagant and exciting... Added the Valentine cards that M & J made for us....

And a painting J did when he was hanging out in my craft room with me.

Included a little pic of the movie poster from Mission Impossible 4 - the hubs and I watched it for Valentine's Day.

Also included a pic of J in front of his future elementary school. I had to take him there one morning that week for his Kindergarten assessment (I blurred out the name for privacy purposes). It was pretty stressful for us (well ME since I'm the constant worrier!) because the school is pretty exclusive and only has a handful of spots.

But yay, we got in!

That week I also started taking the kids on a walk with me on a couple mornings a week. #lifechanges, right?

All in all, a pretty good week.

Now I need to get my butt in gear and work on 11, 12, 13, 14... I'm determined! Wish me luck! :)

More Kat Scrappiness goodies!

Hey All!

I've got a couple of more Kat Scrappiness projects to share with you today!

supplies: DP: My Mind's Eye; Hot Air Balloon Set (felties by Kat Scrappiness)

I came across this old picture of me and DH and decided to create a layout with it using the Hot Air Balloon set from KS! And when I say old, I really should say "before we had kids." *lol* Before we had kids we could do road trips on my weekends off - like this one to Yosemite! It was a great day trip, but those days are long ago - now we've got our kids and spontaneity is out the DOOR! *lol*

How many of you feel that way too? :)

And for my other project this month, I decided to create a card:

CS: Paper Accents; DP: October Afternoon; Felt Cracked Egg (feltie by Kat Scrappiness); sentiment: Pink by Design; ink: SU!; scallop border punch (SU!)

I decided to create a super simple card in time for Easter, but not necessarily FOR Easter. :) I think these little eggs are cute for any occasion - maybe even baby showers. How cute would it be to stick a little chick peeking out from inside the egg?

J Layout: A Kat Scrappiness Project

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!

I'm super excited because I have a layout to share with you today! I don't know what it is about using Kat Scrappiness felties but they really make me want to scrapbook and work on LAYOUTS again!

And since I focused a lot on Princess M, I decided to create a layout about J....

supplies: lots of old stuff in my stash that I used: Bazzill CS, die cut laser paper from KI Memories, journaling block from Making Memories, DP from Chatterbox, transparency from Hambly and the adorable felt sailboat is from Kat Scrappiness!

I left my journaling block blank for a bit... I can't remember when these pictures were taken! I'm thinking around 4 or 5 months, but I could totally be wrong! I really need to look back in my iPhoto library and figure it out! *lol*

But look at J in the pics... I can hardly believe that's the same baby boy who is now 5 years old. And although he's sleeping so peacefully in the pictures, he was never our best sleeper - he still isn't. *lol* Funny how you much your kid's personalities already shine through at such a young age. :)

Amy Tangerine layout #1

Hi everyone!

Whew! It's been a super busy week - so busy that I don't have any prescheduled blog posts (yet) up my sleeve! So what you're seeing this morning is LIVE! *lol*

I was tidying up my craft room and came across one of my layouts I created for that Amy Tangerine class I took at my LSS back in November:

Used lots of American Crafts/Amy Tangerine goodies on this layout and it's probably my favore one I created that day - I really love the grid. I'm going to have scraplift this already scraplifted layout! *lol*

Hi everyone!

I know it's been a while since I've done a Tiffany Tutor video - I was hit with 2 colds at the end of January and February and I couldn't speak for more than 2 minutes without coughing! Ugh. It was the WORST!

And now it's almost the end of February and I have a new video to share with you to get you ready for next week's Tiffany Doodles release! :)

Forgive me... When I create digi layouts I have a really hard time remembering the papers, embellishments, etc. so I don't have a supply list to share!

Anyway, I'm really loving Tiff's new photo overlays! They're like digi sentiment stamps! Super fun and super easy to use!
