Hello out there!

Well, it's 2019 and it's been quite some time since I've blogged... Almost TWO years! How crazy!

So, what's been happening since my last post???

• I've since stopped my monthly subscription to the Typepad blog platform to host my blog. Oh, don't worry, my blog and my blog content are still here on Typepad, but I no longer pay for the extra services. #daveramsey I started realizing that if I blog only here and there, I shouldn't be paying for extra stuff that I'm not using. #savemoney
• The kids are older! J is 12, M is 10, L is 6! It's crazy how time flies by!
• I honestly haven't created any cards or opened any Copic markers <-- Crazy, right? I still love coloring and crafting, I just haven't had the time.
• I taught myself how to quilt! I made one quilt last year. It was so much fun that I was almost in the market for a new sewing machine... but I think it was a just a phase I was in. I'd love to get into sewing, but I don't have the space. Maybe someday.
• I still haven't completed one year of a Project Life or one month of December Daily. face palm

BUT, I do still scrapbook using the Project Life App on my phone here and there. Here's one two-page layout:

AND, you'll be happy to know, these pages are already printed and in our Christmas album. :)

Anyway, I've renamed my blog to reflect all the things that interest me - not just stamping anymore. I really do love all things crafty! So welcome back to JoBoogie Crafts. :)

Stamp Anniething August Theme Week Day #3! Inspired by....

It's time for another Theme Week!

INSPIRED BY... Simply create something that was inspired by a movie, character, song, brand, etc!

We would love for you to participate with us in our THEME WEEK and it's quite easy to do so!  Simply create a project using ANY Stamp Anniething product (as your main focal point) in the set "theme" for that month. Post your project to the corresponding album over at our Face Book Group page (Stamp Anniething Stampers)! You may enter as many projects as you wish, but you will only be counted as ONE entry person.  A minimum of 5 people (not including DT Members) is needed in order for a prize to be given.

Hi all!

    I'm here with a fun project to share with you today! Our family is OBSESSED with Disney and we recently took a trip to Disneyland where I made fun, custom Minnie Mouse headbands for me and my daughter! 

I wanted to create a fun little scrapbook page using one of the Stamp Anniething cuties and customize a little Minnie Mouse headband for her as well! I used Felicity - Hello. 

First, I hand drew a headband on her head using a Copic pen - just so I knew where to color and place her ears. I punched her ears out using a 3/4" hole punch and fussy cut them so they resembled ears. I added some clear Wink of Stella to give them some sparkle, too.

And of course she has a little Frappucino in hand because I love my coffee to make through a day at the parks - FOR SURE! LOL

 

I used a bunch of paper and embellishments from Simple Stories. It was so perfect and I have another page to add to our family vacation album!

Scrappy Moms Stamps November Release Project #2!

 Hi friends!

I'm back with another project for this month's release over at Scrappy Moms Stamps!

So I was looking through Cricut Design Space, trying to figure out what to use for my project today... I knew I hadn't created a layout using my Cricut in quite some time so I thought that using one of the pre-designed scrapbook layouts and jazzing it up a bit would be fun!

Here's what I created:

 I found this pretty cool layout in the Cricut Design Store. I had hemmed and hawed over getting a subscription, but I finally bit the bullet and have no regrets! I'm really using my Cricut now! :)

I thought that by adding a couple of sentiments form the new In the Zone set from Scrappy Moms Stamps would complete the look I was going for - what do you think?!

This set isn't just for card-making as you can see!

10 Days of Cricut Christmas: FAIL! LOL

Hi Friends!

So, my 10 Days of Cricut Christmas series was a FAIL - and I'm not ashamed to admit that. Actually, it wasn't a COMPLETE failure. I got several projects done. See HERE, HERE, and HERE if you don't remember.

I also was able to create a couple more projects that I didn't have time to create blog posts for, but was able to make You Tube videos:

And then there were the 2 cards I never was able to find good sentiments for... so I never was able to film or photograph or blog about them... So that brings my total to 7 projects.

75% of my goal isn't too shabby!

I also finished up a layout, so make that EIGHT!

I got the cutting file from this layout from SVGCuts.com. It's my first Cricut/SVG type layout and I'm pretty pleased! I must admit that it took quite a while to cut out all of the pieces, but after it was all done, it turned out pretty well! It will be a great addition to add to the family scrapbook!

BOO! A couple of Halloween layouts (digi)!

Hi friends!

So if you've been a follower of my blog you all know that a few years ago, I taught myself how to use Photoshop and I learned how to digiscrap all on my own. Since completing L's monthly layouts of his first year, I haven't really scrapped a layout digitally in quite some time.

I hadn't realized, until I checked my email, that it's International Digital Scrapbook Day (iDSD) this weekend! What better way to celebrate than by creating a couple layouts!

Here's the first: (12x12)

Here's the 2nd... It's going to be printed on two 12x12s.

I got all of my supplies for these layouts on The Lilypad. They have a really cool sale going on right now where most of the store is 30% off. I had my eye on the stuff I used for my layouts for a while now so I was lucky I picked them up for a decent deal. And no, I'm not on their DT and I wasn't compensated for the shameless, plug. I'm just a HUGE fan of their kits and digi products. :)

I always have a HUGE creative block when it comes to scrapbooking vacations, or anything that has a LOT of pictures. I had toyed with the idea of creating only pocket style layouts for big trips and events. And I think it's working for me so far.

And even though digi scrapping isn't NEARLY the same as traditional scrapbooking, I still feel accomplished in getting something done for our family albums.

I showed M these layouts and she asked if I was going to put them in both hers and J's books. If I scrapped these traditionally, I wouldn't be able to put them in both of their books! Now I could just print an extra off and put them in both! I'm still not sure if I'm going to do that, but at least I have that option if I wanted to.

6 layouts from the SB Expo + VLOG & HAUL video!

 Hi loves!

A couple weeks ago the Scrapbook Expo was in town... Actually in a town about 35-40 minutes away, but when you live in the Bay Area, you're always driving! LOL

Anyway, I had made plans to go with a bunch of crafty friends (I "met" them through Instagram and You Tube" but when you chat, text, FB message, email so much, they become your friends!) and we had a BLAST!!!

We cropped and shopped the whole day and I got a TON of stuff done - can you believe it?! 6 layouts and 3 months of project life 2014 (the layouts just need journaling. Super proud of myself!

The nice thing about staying on top of my DT commitments is having time to make more cards using other stamp companies and also completing layouts like this one:

I'm really trying to be better about using what I have in my scrap room - believe me when I say, I have A LOT and probably don't need to shop for the next 10 years! LOL

But shopping is all a part of this fabulous hobby so you know, I just have to do it.

At first I wasn't super thrilled with this layout but I do like the memory behind the picture. I'm so glad I have a layout about it!

Layout Share: Love This Girl

I scrapped! #mycreativetime

using more of my stash.

 A few weeks ago was M's first dance recital. For the past year she had been taking weekly preschool type classes for ballet/tap. She loved it! and had an awesome time at her final performance!

She danced with her class and participated in a special Daddy/Daughter dance at the end with DH. She loved it and felt so much like a princess that day!

(sorry I cropped the page a little crooked. I had issues with taking a picture of the layout! eek!)

So I created this layout last week. I used a lot of the Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection (LOVE!. And I must say that I was REALLY trying to HOARD most of it. But you know what they say - you may LOVE it so much that you want to hoard it one day, but you should use it when you love it or you may not ever use it when it goes out of style.

So true, right???

I've also been into using my Viva Decor Inka Gold (I used it on the layout in gold). It really adds a finishing, shimmering touch to my layouts and I'm just in LOVE!

Four Layouts... #amytangerine #kellypurkey

Yes, you read that correctly. FOUR layouts!

I was cleaning up my scrap space (or at least, TRYING TO),  and came across some layouts that I made in a Amy Tangerine (top two)/Kelly Purkey class (bottom two) from 2 years ago. I'm NOTORIOUS for creating projects in classes and never ever using what I make in the class! It's a terrible habit to have. *hangs head in shame* I found these layouts and I was really determined to USE them - especially since I had also found our pictures from the Hawaii trip we took in 2012. Match made in HEAVEN.

And it was totally meant to be.

So, while these layouts from 2012 weren't really my style at the time, it's now 2014 and I'm totally loving the look of different textures and mixed media on my layouts. Amy Tan classes always challenge me to think outside of the box and try different things on my projects and I'm SOOO glad that I have the opportunity to take her classes when she comes to town! She's coming next week and I'm super excited for another class taught by her. :)

Maybe that's another reason why I felt pushed to use these layouts too!

Layout Share: Love This Girl

 Today I'm sharing a new layout I created using a Studio Calico add-on kit that was gathering dust in my scrap room! *lol* Seriously, I have no idea what kit this is from, but I really loved the stamped sentiment, "I solemnly swear I am up to no good". Harry Potter fans, UNITE!

In a scrapbook full of pink, I think this layout will fit really nicely, don't you? It's one of my favorite recent ones. The "love" die cut was used from the Dear Lizzy set of dies I bought from the Scrapbook Expo back in March. First time digging into that package - yay for me!
