Another thumbprint card

I'm a little late posting this, but I wanted to share this with you.

So, if you've followed my blog for a while, I made this card for J's Pre-K teacher on behalf of his class last year. I volunteered to do something similar for M's teacher this year and thought it came out cute once again!

I'm totally digging thumbprint projects lately - I figure that the kids' little thumbs won't be so little anymore (*sniffle*) and it's a great way to capture this age... for gift giving and for memory-keeping. working on my imageless cards

Hi there!!

I have a question - when it comes to crafting, what is your Achille's Heel? Like, what do you feel is weakest style?

For me, I don't think I'm good at vintage, but I do love the look. I also don't think I'm good at shabby chic, although I try sometimes. I think my strengths are clean and simple, bright colors, cuteness, and just plain FUN. *lol*

I also don't think I'm good at cards that don't have an image.

So I created this card recently for a DT call that was going on. It was a last minute entry since I didn't hear about it until the day of the deadline and I had A LOT of stuff going on that day before I could sit down and create a card for it. Keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!

I do love the way the card turned out. Clean and simple, with a *little* bit of shabby chic. And sometimes, I think it's nice that I have imageless cards in my stash. :)

I may not be the best at it, but I'm still trying!

congratulations to my bff!

A couple of weeks ago my bff Corinne had a baby. I wanted to give her time to adjust before I went over there to visit so finally I was able to meet new little Oliver and see my godson Mattie & hang out with her and her husband for a couple hours. :)

I came bearing lunch, dessert and a few gifts... And of course a card:

Kept the card super simple... I even made the inside look pretty but never got a chance to take a picture. I really love this October Afternoon paper - I think it's perfect for my BFF and her life with two boys!

I just realized that I'm doing pretty good with keeping this blog updated daily (minus that one pesky day last week when I couldn't log in to post because of the personal stuff going on at home...but don't worry, it's all good in the 'hood now and we're back in business!)

Anyway, I was going through some old images I had received through an image swap and came across this Bella and decided to get her on a card.

I'm really trying to create cards that have sentiments that are well used - birthday ones, thank yous, congratulations, etc... It's hard to make cards with a "Happy Summer" sentiment - I don't know who to give those cards to! *lol*

Anyway, I thought this adorable Bella was perfect for a card to have on hand. And I colored her drink green because apple martinis are my favorite! *sigh* Sadly, I haven't had one in YEARS. It's been a while, a long while, since I've had a cocktail.

ahoy + lots of challenges

I thought I would stop by here before heading into work!

I was able to sneak in some crafty time this morning while keeping the kids busy (I have pics to share for another day!) and I was able to make a couple of cards.

I'll share the first one today:

I had this image colored for a while now but only got a chance to place her on a card until now! I had already colored her red, white, & blue, but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with her on a card until I went through my stash, looking for what I could find. *lol* Sometimes that happens, right?

Anyway, I made this card for the following challenges:

2. iCopic Weekly Challenge #37 - Red, White, & Blue
3. All That Scraps - Anything Goes

It's my first time submitting a card for more than 2 challenges - I was looking through my challenge blogs on my Google Reader and realized that my card qualifies for THREE! I have no idea how people submit to five, sometimes 10 challenges at a time.... I'm just not that creative... or organized! *lol*

Well, no challenge card today, just a simple card I made for my "cousin"'s daughter who graduated from college about a month ago. Yesterday was her graduation party, but because of a conflict with some previous plans we were unable to make it... And top that with the fact that my kiddos are still not feeling 100%, we all just stayed home.

(However, this Mama was able to go to the New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys concert last night - the tickets were expensive. I wasn't about to miss it! - if I can I'll post a recap another day!)

But I digress...

I thought I'd keep the card super simple. I love this sentiment stamp set so much - it's one of my favorites. I like using them on cards that don't have a huge image. I think the stamp speaks for itself. :)

Hello and Happy Friday, everyone!

Ok, so I'm really going to try and post something crafty everyday at least Monday through Friday. I know I've said that before, but I really NEED to do this. First, it's because I need to keep you guys coming back for more and second, I need to use up my stash and CREATE! *lol*

I've actually been really good about using what I've been buying lately. I'm notorious for collecting hoarding, but I've been really good! I've been telling myself that new stuff comes out ALL the time, so I better use what I have...to make room for more! :)

So here's my card for you today. I actually created this last month because I was considering trying out for the Squiggles & Giggles DT. I thought about it for a while but decided not to. I love their stamps, but I just couldn't handle any more on my creative plate right now. I've decided to focus more on things for ME and MY FAMILY so I want to get back in to creating more scrapbook layouts. Makes sense right? Scrapbooking is what got me started in the papercrafting world. I need to go back to my roots.

Anyway, I used this adorable image and used a bunch of PTI for the rest of my card. I think it came out super adorable!

Mojo problems got you down?

I fell in love with this great set from Papertrey ink when it released in  February. I couldn't resist the sentiments about crafting and mojo, which I know we've all lost from time to time!

I'm hoping mine won't give me any problems any time soon! The image is from C.C. Designs - Spring Sugarplum Emma! I swear, between The Greeting Farm's stamps and C.C. Designs' Sugarplums and Swiss Pixies - I'd be BROKE! AND did you see??? They're releasing, for the first time ever, a Swiss Pixies SET as a whole release - at a significant discount! (And no, I don't work for All that Scraps nor am I on their Design Team to promote their products - I just think they're a great deal. And I'm ALL ABOUT deals lately! *lol*)

Well... moving on...

Look, I even made an inside to my card! Super simple, but I couldn't just leave the dark card base by itself, right?

Anyway, I used more TE Key Ingredients goodness for the card - the CS is Prism and the DP is more Cosmo Cricket Earth Love (I think).

Good Morning!

Good Morning Everyone!

I WAS going to schedule this post for earlier, but I totally forgot! Now I have to hurry because DH and I are dropping off the kids at my parents' house so we can spend this Monday morning at the movies to watch AVATAR in 3-D! Yes, we're late jumping on the bandwagon, but we have "2 little excuses" that don't let us get out much.

Luckily for us, we have my very helpful parents. :) BUT I still need to do a million other things today like get my haircut, find a dress for Malia's first birthday party (in 2 weeks!), finish up her birthday slideshow, find cake toppers for the cake, etc. Ack!

Here is my card to start off the week! I used this sweet Kiki La Rue image from All That Scraps! Actually, I might have picked her up a couple months ago, but never had colored her in! Typical me, right?

I used February's TE Key Ingredients that featured DP from Making Memories. I'm telling you - this was really tough for me! I love colorful patterned paper. Black and White is so challenging!

I think this card was based off a sketch challenge somewhere but I didn't have time to complete it and submit it. So I had to adjust it a little with the little triangle at the bottom - I embossed it with my Cuttlebug (not sure if you can tell) with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is from PTI's Daily Designs Sentiments set.
