last day of vacay.

Even though we didn't go anywhere during my vacation this week, I'm glad I got to spend time with the kids and get some much needed crafting in...

Yay for another card! I used Taylored Expressions' September Key Ingredients Kit for this one - I realized I still have a ton of stuff left in that kid to use! I also used another hedgehog image I received in a swap from SCS! Isn't he so cute?

I used this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC45) and flipped it. I love the simplicity and versatility of this sketch! Super fun!

POP! goes the card!

Back in the day when I started off using strap hinge albums for my scrapbooks, I used to enjoy making pop up layouts. It took a while for me to get the hang of it, but I made some really cute pop up pages (if I do say so myself!). I miss strap hinge albums because of the fact that they do lay flat when you open them and the gap in the center is very small. I just HATE not being so confined - it's difficult to scrap out of order (which is what I do) in them. I've found a love for American Crafts 12x12 D-ring cloth albums! But if you really want to read about how I organize my albums, let me know and I'll save that post for another day. :)

Today's card is based off of Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #44 (MTSC44) from LAST WEEK. It's been one crazy week so far for me! I'm on vacation but I'm spending it with the kids or doing errands all week - trying to get ready for HALLOWEEN! It's pretty funny teaching Jonah to say "Trick or Treat. Smell My Feet. Give Me Something Good to Eat." *lol* I have to get it on video soon.

Anyway, here's the card:

I made this card for my SIL who celebrated her birthday this past weekend. She said she didn't want any gifts so I thought that I should try to make her a fabulous card. :)

And I decorated the inside:

I used my Sizzix Big Shot 3-Tier cake die... I did fine assembling it, but man! That is so scary trying to fold it in half without ruining your work! I need more practice with using the pop up dies from Sizzix. They're so daunting, but I think once I get the hang of it, my cards will come out nicer. :)

Anyway, thanks so much for the responses about image swapping with me! I really need to get my list together and post it her on my blog!

Seriously. I love cupcakes. Homemade ones. Store-bought ones. Specialty-ones, though, seem to be my fave. Sprinkles is ok, but Kara's is my FAVORITE right now. The Chocolate Velvet... YUMMMM... And the Fleur Du Sel... Party in my mouth - for REAL. :)

And I'm addicted to cupcake stamps. Little Cuppy from Taylored Expressions is just so ADORABLE! I can't resist him, so any chance I get (via their sales during their monthly release), I try to add him & the rest of his friends to my rubber collection. :)

Today's card feature's TE's Season's Sweetings set. :) At first I was a little apprehensive in using this image - it's a lot of coloring! And I messed up the tree, but I really like the way it came out!

I also used this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge. :) LOVE her sketches. I'm so glad I was able to play this week!

And I got to play along with Sparkle's Christmas card challenge this week too! Yippee!

This has got to be one of my favorite recent Christmas cards I've made. I'm not normally excited for the holidays (they stress me out!) but this year I'm starting to get really excited - maybe it's because we've got 2 kids now and it's so wonderful to experience Christmas through their eyes. Maybe I'm becoming more patient in my old age. *lol* Who knows? I may change my mind and become Grinch-y again when I have to brave the mall-crowds and fight people for parking!

Anyway, have a beautiful Sunday! I'm actually off work tonight and we're headed to the Pumpkin Patch this afternoon! Yay!

I apologize for the poor picture. Now that Fall is in full swing, the natural light is pretty bad in our tiny little home. :(

Anyway, here is today's card. I'm pretty proud of myself - I primarily used all scraps for it! :)

So, I found a new stamp company that I'm in love with. Verve! yes, I know they've been around a while now, but it's my first time placing an order and boy, was I NOT disappointed. I placed it on a Monday, and my package quickly arrived on Wednesday - how awesome is that?!

I'm still struggling with my love/hate relationship with clear stamps - they don't make clean crisp images for me! Am I doing something wrong? Anyone have any tips?

Verve stamps were too cute to resist, though, so I had to add a few to my collection. Including this one. I'm not really into religious stamps, but this one spoke to me and it's one of my favorite quotes in the Bible. I couldn't pass it up!
