Happy Sunday and welcome to another Birthday Sundaes Challenge!

This week's challenge is the last of our fabulous Kristie's Favorite Things! She chose a very awesome photo for inspiration for you today! Here it is:

And here's my take on the challenge this week:

So I wanted to be a little different this week and step out of my Copic-coloring comfort zone (say THAT five times fast! *lol*). I was inspired by the photo by the colors - I tried to match. My Virgo tendencies like matchy-matchy *lol*. I loved the little flags on top of the cupcakes, but instead for my card I wanted to create a banner of flags. And finally I was inspired by the cupcakes themselves (y'all know my affinity for cupcakes!) so I made the cupcake take center stage. The sentiment is from an old Stampin' Up! set I've had.

another imageless one...

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!

I totally am trying to work on imageless cards. Let me tell you - it's not always easy since I always want to reach for my Copic Markers! I find, though, that when I have a good sentiment stamp set in my rubber supply, it makes for an easy card. :)

I really used my stash with this card - not only did I use a stamp set that has been on my shelf for a while (although, I'm really using it more these days!), I used a flower that's been in a drawer, trim that's been lying around, and the Tim Holtz Embossing folder I had never used - it's my first time!

Had a ton of fun creating this card even though I didn't use ANY of my markers. :)

Aren't you guys proud of me? *lol*

happy 36 years to my parents!

Yay - another imageless card!

I made this quick and simple card for my parents - they celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on Tuesday! :)

Apologies for the poor quality picture! - I like taking pictures in my craft room in the afternoon, when the light is best... But I made this card in the AM and we were heading out the door! I usually also like to use Photoshop to liven up my pics, but no amount of photoshop could salvage a this picture! *lol* Bummer, too - it's really pretty IRL! :)

Anyway, I made this card for my folks - I always wonder if they keep my cards and what they do with them. My dad's birthday is on Saturday, so I better get cracking and make him a card too! By now they should have stacks of cards from me.They SHOULD - hopefully they don't find their way into the trash! *lol*

2 more days until the weekend! Does anyone have anything fun planned? We're spending the weekend hanging out at home - maybe doing something small for my dad... and then we're celebrating our friend's son who's turning ONE! I can't believe how time has FLOWN!

working on my imageless cards

Hi there!!

I have a question - when it comes to crafting, what is your Achille's Heel? Like, what do you feel is weakest style?

For me, I don't think I'm good at vintage, but I do love the look. I also don't think I'm good at shabby chic, although I try sometimes. I think my strengths are clean and simple, bright colors, cuteness, and just plain FUN. *lol*

I also don't think I'm good at cards that don't have an image.

So I created this card recently for a DT call that was going on. It was a last minute entry since I didn't hear about it until the day of the deadline and I had A LOT of stuff going on that day before I could sit down and create a card for it. Keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!

I do love the way the card turned out. Clean and simple, with a *little* bit of shabby chic. And sometimes, I think it's nice that I have imageless cards in my stash. :)

I may not be the best at it, but I'm still trying!
