adventures in my craft room + CPS challenge #224

Hi there!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday and I've been back home almost a week! Time defnitely flies!

I've been having some SERIOUS mojo going on, so I've also been able to do a little bit of papercrafting (go me!). I've got a card to share:

(supplies: rubber stamp: Cheeky Mate (The Greeting Farm); sentiment: PaperTrey Ink; paper, ribbon & other goodies: an old Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit; other: scallop oval punch (SU!))

True story: I had this image of TGF's Cheeky Mate colored on my craft desk a couple of weeks ago. THAT alone should teach me a lesson since J & M LOVE playing in there. Well I forgot that I had some stuff out (I usually try and be good and put stuff away, but sometimes a girl gets lazy!) and J came running to me, telling me that M was playing with my "facebook" - it's what he calls my craft room or anything crafty. *lol* I didn't pay attention to him because by then M had left the room.

Well, she got a hold of one of my Copic markers (!) and scribbled all over my newly-colored Cheeky Mate image! Ack! Thankfully, she colored the BACKSIDE of the paper and not the front and none of it seeped through. WHEW!

Lesson learned: put away everything no matter how tired and lazy I am!

Anyway, I made this card just to have on hand. This adorable image is still one of my very favorite Cheeky TGF images and totally got my mojo going again!

last card for the week!

I've decided to make it easy on myself and set a goal: to only post Monday - Friday. I figure it would be simpler that way. Occasionally, I'll try and post or schedule a post for the weekend, but for now, my goal is to at least post during the week. Sound good?

I was able to squeeze in one more card for a challenge this week! This one is based off of this week's sketch over at CPS (CPS Sketch 154). It's been FOREVER since I've been able to participate, but it was super fun this week, I'm hoping to squeeze in some ME time next week to get more projects done!

I colored this TGF WS Bree image a while ago. I can't even remember when I did it. Maybe it was even before Christmas! *lol* I think I colored her when it was late at night - I wasn't even sure about the color combination. But, I decided to keep her and waited for whatever paper came my way.

I also made an inside to the card:

I used January's Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit.

You're probably wondering why, that lately, I've only been using my TE KI kits when I have a whole scrap room full of supplies. Well, since my DD has been sleeping in our scrap room/office, I don't have a lot of access to my full array of supplies. Last month we invested in a crib and dresser (up until that point, she had been sleeping in a Pack 'N Play.) and we rearranged the furniture to accommodate her new room. We moved our computer and desk upstairs to our bedroom, but we left my scrapping and stamping supplies in her 'new' room. And now that I've been able to sneak away time to craft, I've been grabbing only what I can keep tucked away in a small area in the kitchen. So that leaves my KI kits. *sigh*

I'm hoping one of these weeks, DH and I can visit Ikea. Because I want one of these:

I have a *little* bit of space left in my bedroom. I was thinking I can stick this in the corner and tuck away my most used card making supplies so I can have easy access to them at night when the kids are asleep. We'll see...

How many challenges can I complete for one card???? I think my max had been two... This time I'm bringing you THREE. Oh YEAH! AND it features one of my favorite Anyas... Ta-da!

 

The first is over at Etsy Inspired! I hadn't had a chance to play along with their challenges in  a LONG time! The last time I played was when I won my first piece of some FABULOUS blog candy (some Unity stamps - Yay!)... Anyway, this weeks Etsy Inspired shop is Kharlie Bug - she makes some super cute bags! Makes me seriously want to learn how to sew... Anyway, I drew inspiration from this one... I really liked the colors.

Speaking of the colors... They happen to be this week's Color Throwdown challenge! Baja Breeze, Black/Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand... Well, I don't have any Sahara Sand, so I hope Kraft and Ivory will do!

AND, last but not least, this card is based off of this week's sketch at CPS! How's THAT for completing challenges?!

I'm super bummed because I've got TONS of mojo but I'm working the next 2 nights... Thankfully, I've got some posts scheduled so stay tuned! :)
