With all my DT work lately it's getting hard to create non-DT cards and layouts! But I promise - I will post a couple a week! I haven't forgotten my roots and where I came from! I love all stamp companies and product! :)
Would you believe that even though I create a TON of cards, I often forget to GIVE them to people? *lol* Yes, you read that right - I forget to give out cards for people's birthdays! Not this week, though. I made this card to celebrate a friend's birthday this week. She's into paper crafting too and although she says she's not "hardcore" like me and my BFF, I still consider her a papercrafter!
This card features Sugar Nellie's Manga Girl #1. Isn't she adorable? I tried something new with her hair this time - instead of using my Copic Sketch C3, C5, C7, C9, I also added Copic 100 to it to make her roots and ends a little darker.
I must confess - I get a lot of coloring advice from... my HUBBY! Can you believe it? He's actually more artistic than me - he can draw pretty well (although he says he can only draw inanimate objects) and he has a clear concept of light and shadows. So everytime I color, I always hold it up and show him to get his approval. He always says, "Where's your light source." and then I tell him and he either says "That's pretty good" or "Don't do too much highlight" or "make that part darker." *lol* Isn't that hilarious?
Anyway, for the rest of my card I used my January TE Key Ingredients Kit... My Nestabilities... And that sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. :)
I'm also entering it in this week's Copic Creations Challenge (I haven't done one in a while!).
Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting today! :)
