Layout share: For The Love of Books #silhouettecameo

Hi everyone!

First let me start off by saying Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! :)

I've got a scrapbook layout to share with you all today. Ok, so let me start off by confessing that I bought a Silhouette Cameo back on Black Friday of last year (*hangs head in shame*) and I'm *just now* using it.

In my defense though, I have a few reasons why it has never been used!

1. I don't have the space to keep it out all the time.

2. I used to use a desktop computer for all things crafty and it resides in my bedroom. My hubby works nights 3-4 nights a week. I work nights 2-3 nights a week. To make a long story short, my computer wasn't easily accessible during the day and by the time I DID have time to use the computer at night, I was so tired from the day or I had to work on DT projects I just didn't have time to use my Cameo.

3. It intimidated me. <-- seriously.

So, I got this bag to store my Cameo and keep it when it's not in use. I got a new laptop to use. And I decided to put my big girl pants on and take the plunge.

I've had a Silhouette subscription for a few months and I've been collecting images. I also have a Silhouette SD (I know, I didn't NEED the Cameo, but I wanted the 12x12 capability. See my future FOR SALE section soon.) The Silhouette wasn't completely foreign to me, but it still wigged me out.

Here's my first layout using this cutfile from the Silhouette store.

It's super simple but I really do like the way it turned out. I was organizing my Silhouette library the other day and I realized that I gravitate toward words and phrases. I think I have enough phrases for titles for a million layouts! LOL

I had a lot of fun playing around with my new machine. I'm such a gadget girl, it's not even funny! I can't wait to design new projects to sharew with you all! I'm super excited! :)
