Hello Wednesday!
Have you heard of Project Life? I've been a fan of Becky Higgins since about 1998. I remember just getting into scrapbooking and I came across a few of her layouts in Creating Keepsakes. Then I remembered that I was just in awe that she continued on to be one of the creative editors and regular contributors... and she even had a few idea books that she had published (which, by the way, I owned pretty much most of them, if not all of them!). I even bought her font CDs! *lol*
I remember that she came out with Project Life last year or the year before - I'm not sure. But I do remember wanting it, trying to purchase it, and the site (I think it was Creating Keepsakes) was down and it wouldn't let me purchase it even though I had it in my cart! Wah!
So I moved on... and forgot about it... But I have Ali Edwards' blog (another favorite of mine!) in my Google Reader and I've been LOVING her weekly Project Life posts.
Seriously, I thought to myself. I could DO that.
I've been scrapping for over 14 years... but since I discovered rubber stamping and cardmaking in 2008, though, I haven't scrapped as much as I would like. I haven't told as many stories as much as I want to. I don't have pictures printed as often as I should.
So, in 2012, I'm going to tackle Project Life.
My kids are getting older. I'm getting older. My memory is not as sharp as it used to be. I'm hoping that Project Life will get me back to the basics of why I scrapbook - to tell stories. To capture memories.
But I do know me, though... I'm not good with follow-through. I tend to have big dreams with little success. I'm going to take it one week at a time.
I'm waiting for a few new products to be released, but here's what I've got to get started:
Photo Pocket Pages - Big Pack of Design A
Photo Pocket Pages - 6x12 for 4x6 photos
Photo Pocket Pages - Big Variety Pack 1
Well, that's what I have to get me started so far... I'm excited to get started and I've actually contemplated starting this month, but changed my Virgo-OCD mind. *lol*
What about you? Do you plan to start Project Life? :)
Thanks for stopping by today! :)
disclaimer: I don't work for or design for Becky Higgins, LLC. I have not received any of these products for free to review (although, I'm not opposed to that! *lol*). I just genuinely believe in the product and wanted to share my own personal thoughts and opinions. :) -Jo
Okay, JB!! Are you trying to get me addicted to another scrap project!? I'm on this like peanut butter to bread!! TFS

Project Life is something I'm really interested in! I just know that it won't be possible for me to be regular about it because I think I'd get upset about missing a day or missing a week. I don't have the Project Life products, but I do have the We R Memory Keepers page protectors and a leather 12x12. I'm hoping to do a form of that with those products! I know that if I see you keeping up with yours in 2012, I will really be eager to do mine, even if I do it each month. Looking forward to seeing your posts!

Lemme know what you think of it. I've been reading Ali's posts too, and what I like about it is her journaling and how she keeps little receipts or cute clothing tags. Good-luck!

I did one this year. It was fun and for me I didn't do every single day. I just did for things I did. Made it less stressful. Good luck with it and hope you enjoy it!

I think Project Life is a great stepping stone to getting all those bits of the every day down in one place. I did it as a baby book for E in 2009 and did it for our family this year. I don't do the whole picture a day thing and look at it as more of a weekly spread. Sometimes most of the pictures are of one day. The one thing I wish I did more regularly though is journal... that is something that I'm hoping to do better next year. With baby #2 on the way, I'm not sure if I will be doing it as a baby book for him or a family album again. Either way, great goodies you picked up and good luck with PL in 2012!
