Well, friends, I'm actually going to go for this! ... I've had my Cricut for about 4 or 5 years now and I've had my Expression for about 2... I don't use them a lot, but I'm starting to! I've got a few blogs in my Google Reader and I've separated them into different catergories: Cricut ideas, Cricut Stamps, Cricut Challenges... And you know what? I love all of them!
One of my favorites is one I've been following for a long time: The Pink Stamper. She's got some awesome ideas AND she has some awesome stamps that go well with the Cricut cartridges (*note to self - I need to add some to my rubber supply!)
Anyway, she's got a call going on for her DT and I thought I'd go for it. (seriously, I'm not holding my breath since I haven't really been crafting with my Cricut for very long!). But it's one of those things - you never know unless you try! So I've just decided to do it (and get some mileage out of my Cricut Expression!)
Here are the requirements for the DT challenge/call:
Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......
Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
(other optional color of your choice) - I chose Kraft!
Here's my card:
supplies: Cricut Cartridge - Pop Up Neighborhood (Cricut Circle Exclusive); cardstock: green (DeNami Design), kraft (Bazzill); patterned paper: Echo Park; sentiment stamp: Loads of Love (SU!); ink: chocolate chip (SU!); other: white gel pen, black pen, dimensional adhesive
How I made the card...
The card size is a regular horizontal A2 size. I cut the checkered green Echo Park paper at 4" x 5 1/4". I used the tow truck and its layers from the Pop Up Neighborhood cartridge at 3", assembled it all together and then used my white gel pen and black gel pen to "stitch" around the edges. The sentiment is stamped on kraft CS and that and the "road" are all inked around the edges with Chocolate Chip ink from SU!. I wanted a little oomph to the saying as it's being "towed away", so I added the little square scallop punched turquoise piece right behind it to make it pop
Not bad for my first official Cricut card, don't you think? :)
My Cricut has actually been getting a workout - not only for this challenge, but also for the Batman I made for J I couple of days ago. This morning we made some monsters and rockets too. :)
Happy Saturday afternoon, everyone!
Oh, this is so stinkin cute!! The papers you used are perfect and the sentiment is adorable!!! Good luck!!
