Stick Pins!

Good Morning, everyone!

Life has been a little hectic lately. The family and I went camping for the weekend with some friends - and I do have to say that, although I don't consider myself an outdoorsy kind of girl, I had a GREAT time and can't wait to go again! :)

So, with that trip behind me and DS's first day of preschool ahead of me, PLUS looking for a new house, I've got a lot on my plate right now... I apologize for the lack of crafty posts (besides the ones for my DTs!) and I hope you all can stick by me during this crazy time!

Speaking of "stick" (wah wah!), I joined a Stick Pin Swap over at The Beach last month and had A FABULOUS TIME making these...

The theme for this challenge was RED and to make sure one of the beads SPARKLE. I think I did a pretty good job, don't you?

I can't wait to see what the other ladies come up with! I think I might start selling these in sets, what do you think? I could use the extra little $$ to save up for my DOWN PAYMENT. *lol*

a tag and a card.

Hello everyone!

I'm really getting into the swapping world and enjoying it. :) I just recently participated in a 6x6 paper and goodie swap over at The Scrap Beach and had a great time gathering all my goodies to send to my swap partner.

We were to send 24 sheets of 6x6 patterned paper, 12 6x6 sheets of solid cardstock, a small bag of embellishments, a tag, and thank you card, and a small treat for our swap partner. I didn't take a pic of everything I sent, but I got a chance to take a pic of the tag and card I made:

I loved how my tag came out. I'm really having fun making tags - it's a totally different world for me!

And for my card I just used some Basic Grey Kioshi paper and used a sentiment from PTI. This little cutie is from the TGF Roll Call kit - I finally broke open and trimmed my stamps from that kit - HOORAY! :) I love how cute she turned out!

I hope my partner enjoys her swap goodies!

DDSB Challenge: So Distressed!

Hello everyone!

So happy you could join me today. For today's Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge, we're venturing into the world of DISTRESSING. I'm really starting to LOVE my Tim Holtz Distress Ink, so this challenge was perfect for me.

Here's my card for the week:

If you've seen my blog posts lately, you'll notice that I've been creating a lot of Halloween cards! I'm really getting into the season and I have a ton of ideas to celebrate Halloween this year. When I was a kid, I wasn't into Halloween as much - I think it's because my neighborhood wasn't so safe and I didn't get to Trick-orTreat as much as I would have liked. There was one time I missed Halloween completely because I had to stay home for a week because I had Chicken Pox. So not fun. But now that I have kids of my own, I'm trying to create some wonderful traditions and memories for them. We'll be starting with Halloween this year. :)

So for my card today, I used the adorable Cecil Mouse & Broom. Isn't he just the cutest? I altered him a little by removing the little moon and stars behind him. Here's what the image looks like originally:

I distressed the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. And for the rest of my card, I used my newest Halloween themed Martha Stewart DP stack. The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin' Up!

DeNami Wednesday...

Good Morning!

One of my favorite seasons of the year is FALL. I love the colors of the falling leaves. I love the changing of the weather. I love that it's a prelude to the Holiday season.

So for my card today, I used the adorable Scarecrow from DeNami Design. I was totally inspired by a Fall Harvest DP paper stack I picked up at the store a couple weeks ago. I thought it would be perfect.

I left this card without a sentiment. I might use it for a birthday card or a thank you card... but I didn't want to be committed to "Happy Fall" - How many times do we give cards like that? *lol*

I finished off the card with some Orange Polka Dot ribbon from DeNami as well. Love how it makes the card POP!

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past August Blog Hop!

Hello and Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Welcome to one of my most favorite days of the month - the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop! I absolutely love this time of the month - I get to play with my very much neglected, but very loved "old" TE stamps!

For this month's card, I decided to create a Halloween card using one of my most favorite TE stamp sets: Trick or Sweet. I don't know about you, but I'm getting super excited for Halloween this year and I'm TOTALLY loving all things SPOOKY and FUN! Isn't my little Cuppie Dracula and Frankenstein super cute? I wanted to include Elphaba from Wicked, but she couldn't fit. Oh well, I'll save her for another card!

I used the Martha Stewart Halloween DP, along with her fence punch and added a little "moon" in the corner of the card. I love this card, it's one of my favorites!

DeNami Challenge: Birthday!

Happy Friday!

I can't believe it's finally Friday! I'm working this whole weekend, but I still look forward to Fridays! :)

It's also the 20th of the month so that means it's time for another DeNami Challenge! Today's challenge theme is BIRTHDAY! Birthday cards, birthday favors, birthday invitations - create a birthday project!

Here's my card for today:

I really am falling in love all over again with DeNami's Mimi Stamps! So for today's card I decided to use another Mimi favorite: Mimi w/ Birthday Cake. I think she's a perfect image to celebrate anyone's birthday and DeNami's Make a Wish sentiment stamp is a perfect pairing! Don't you think?

DDSB Challnege: Anything Goes!

Happy Thursday, everyone! 

Pardon my picture of my card today - I took the picture in the wee hours of the morning right when I woke up from a 4 hour night of sleep so my eyes were unfocused - hence my picture unfocused. *lol*

For my card today, I used Digi Doodle Shop's Body Tot Uncle Bubba image. You all know how fond I am for Copic coloring so the I knew the Body Tot images are perfect for my beloved markers! :) Isn't he just adorable playing his banjo?

anyway, this is going to be a super short post today so I can leave you time to check out the rest of the DDSB DT and their work! Hope you get to play in this week's Anything Goes challenge. Remember - ANYTHING GOES! :)

DeNami Product Spotlight: Apple Basket!

Hello everyone!

Today's card features the ADORABLE Apple Basket stamp from DeNami! I love this little stamp - super easy to use and fun to color with my Copics!

 

To add a bit more fun, I added a couple more apple stamps from the Apples and Pears stamp set. I just love how DeNami's stamps work so well together! I wanted to keep this card super simple and have it handy for any occasion so I stamped the "Hello" sentiment from the Assorted Greetings Petit Fours set.

The cardstocks are Lime Green, Leaf Green, Iridescent Chocolate Satin and some red and white scraps I had lying on my table. I think they all went together so perfectly!

DeNami Polka Dot Blog Hop!

It's an awesome today today because all of the DeNami DT members are joined by 3 very special friends to help us with this fabulous hop!

The theme for today's hop? POLKA DOTS! Isn't that fun?

Personally I LOVE polka dots. My mom always said that wearing polka dots on New Year's Eve was lucky. I've always been drawn to buying polka dot dresses for my little girl. And, honestly, who could resist the CUTENESS that polka dots bring? :)

Anyway, on to my card for today's hop:

 

For this special blog hop I used my favorite Mimi stamp: Mimi In the Rain! I colored her with my Copics and used my oval nestabilities to cut her out. I stamped the Teeny Swiss Dot on lime cardstock to create a polka dot background. You all know I LOVE the lime cardstock just as much as I love the magenta - So of course, I had to use some of that. :) The "miss you" sentiment is from the Assorted Greetings Petit Fours set (another favorite - those petit four stamps are so cute and versatile!) For the final touch I used some Sheer Hot Pink/White Dots 5/8" ribbon! Perfect Polka Dot ribbon! :)

I used the adorable sunBEEm image from Daisy's Digi Doodles. Isn't it cute? I added a little bling to the bee's wings (can't really see it) and distressed the edges of my image with distress ink. The sentiment is from DeNami. :)
