Whimsy Haven MAHALO!

Hey peeps!

So you may have been wondering where my Whimsy Haven Wednesday posts have gone! The fabulous design team and our fearless leader Lindsay have decided to a Summer vacation of our own. Instead of all of us creating cards every week, we're hijacking the Whimsy Haven blog and taking turns to post! So today is my turn! :)

Don't worry, while we're on our Summer vacation, all stamps will still be available to purchase! :)

Here's my card for this week!

 

For my card I used the palm tree image from the SUMMERTIME set. I simply printed it on my ivory CS and distressed the edges with SU! Chocolate Chip ink. The DP is Making Memories. The sentiment is from Amuse. The green CS is from DeNami.

Whimsy Haven - Whoo Hoo!

Here is my card for today!

My card today uses the adorable Gettin' Cozy set. It's an older WH set, but I've been wanting to playwith these chair images FOREVER!

I kept my card design simple - cut the image out, popped it up on dimensionals onto a piece of CS I had already printed the sentiment on. I used my Nestabilities to cut everything out and just added some Melissa Frances lace at the bottom. Easy peasy! :)

Whimsy Haven: SUMMERTIME!

Hi everyone!

I can hardly believe it's SUMMER! The weather where I am isn't nearly as hot as it should be! Oh well, I'm sure as the days roll on, it will get warmer and warmer and I'll be WISHING for something cool to breeze my way, right?

For my card today I used the super adorable "Somewhere over the Rainbow" image from the Summertime set. I kept it simple and just colored the rainbow with a few colors of my Copics. Would you believe I was singing this song over and over again while I was making this card? *lol*

I used my June TE Key Ingredients kit for the rest of the card and I'm super proud of myself for stretching this kit out as far as I can go! Yippee!

Whimsy Haven Wednesday! It's a SKETCH challenge!

For the sketch I kept it SUPER simple this week since it's going to be a Father's Day card for my Dad. :) I also flipped it - I notice I like to keep focal points heavy on the left side for my projects. I don't know why. *lol*

Here's my card!

I used Lindsay's Father's Day set for this one, printed it on Kraft CS and colored it (very lightly!) with my Copics). I think the car image is SO PERFECT for masculine cards! I think I'll be reaching for this image (well, printing it out!) quite often! :)

Whimsy Haven Wednesday! :)

Sorry for being quiet these past couple of days. I had every intention to post something crafty everyday this week but it's been a little busy on the homefront with me working every night for the past 3 nights in a row! Not fun, but at least now I get a few days off to spend with my family (and get my crafty on at night! :)

I made a super simple card to share with you today. You may remember this image from Whimsy Haven around Mother's Day. Instead of Mother's Day I decided to use it to make my mom's card for her upcoming birthday!

 

I used some Dear Lizzy scraps, printed out the "Mom" set and colored it in with my Copics. Used my Nestabilities to cut the images out... The stitching stamp is from DeNami. 

I'm going to have to keep this short and sweet today! Be sure to check back at Whimsy Haven to grab the Weekly $1 Stamp!

Whimsy Haven Wednesday!

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for my silence these past couple of days. It's been a hectic weekend with me working 3 nights in a row over the weekend (actually, I got called off on Saturday - yay!) and then we spent Memorial Day Monday at a BBQ and yesterday was DH's birthday!

I had to make sure I got some cards done, though, and this is the one I did for Whimsy Haven Wednesday!

I think this card reflects my typical style, don't you? It's super bright and fun - and I think that's what best describes the cards and layouts I make (with the occasional out-of-the-box one thrown in for good measure, of course! *lol*)

For this card, I used Whimsy Haven's Birthday Star set, printed it twice and popped the bow out with dimensionals. I actually didn't use any ribbon - what a surprise! But I thought that the ribbon on the box is perfect enough. The patterned paper is old scraps of Imaginisce (are they still around?) and I used one of my Quickutz embossing folders for the blue cardstock.

Hmmm.. That effect looks like a Lego block doesn't it? I'm going to have to do this again if I make a layout about LEGOS! *lol*

Whimsy Wednesday!

Good Morning, everyone!

I say this all the time - I can't believe it's already the end of May! That means we're almost halfway through the year and that means Christmas will be around the corner SOON!

I have a confession. I don't create my Christmas cards... Well, I do, but I don't rubber stamp them and use DP and stuff like that. I just use my digital scrapbooking stuff for that - it saves me time.

But once in a while I like to create a handmade card for special gifts for my very best friends, or for special gift cards - things like that.

And now that it's May, I realized I haven't created any Christmas cards yet - I better get cracking!

Anyway, on to my card... My card features the ADORABLE sentiment from the Sweet Tooth set (normally $5, but 1/2 off this week only! Hurry!). I LOVE the movie Elf! I think Will Farrell is HILARIOUS and I'm so glad Lindsy decided to use one of my favorite quotes as digi stamp - GENIUS!

The rest of my card is mostly made up of elements from Taylored Expressions Christmas KI kit from last year! I really need to make a dent in that kit! Seriously!

I also made this card for not one, but TWO challenges this week!

Super FUN, right? :) Here's my take on it!

I used Whimsy Haven's brand new Sweet Tooth set and most of my old January Taylored Expressions KI kit. I just LOVE cupcakes and this digi stamp set was right up my alley! And you all KNOW I'm loving banners these days too - so FUN!

Ok, take a good look - what's WRONG with my card?! My DP is UPSIDE DOWN! *lol* I can't believe I did that! Actually, I can - I've been so tired lately - long nights doing projects, and my DS waking up in the middle of the night with nosebleeds! :( Poor little guy! Anyway, I didn't realize I had the DP upside down until I went to take a picture! Silly me!

My blog hop card features the cute little As If Owl! Cute right? I looked in my stash for some cute little animal print paper and came up with this DP I've been hoarding from Sassafrass Lass! (OMG I still can't get over how I have the paper upside down! *lol*)... Everything else is kept simple - the sentiment is from the Chat Room Rub Ons from SU!.

I have a 2nd card today as well...

 

Whimsy Haven is sponsoring this week's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You! Super fun! I kept my card super simple and used the balloon image from the Birthday Star set. I had planned to use one of the sentiments as well but instead used the American Crafts ribbon I had that matched my DP. :)

My card today features Lindsay's fabulous Live Love Life tree! Whimsy Haven featured this adorable tree as part of our blog hop a few weeks ago and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it to play!

The rest of my card uses more of my old TE October '09 KI kit - including the Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper (LOVE!).
