So my card today features a forgotten, but favorite, stamp from Sugar Nellie! She's been in my rubber collection for quite sometime and needed some love so I decided to use her! Isn't she pretty? I love adding Stickles to her wings for the extra BLING too. :)

Manga girl.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Well, I haven't been posting on Saturdays lately but I thought I would try something different today since my DT commitments are usually slotted for the week - I don't get a chance to post any of my stuff I do just for fun!

So today's card features THIS super cute stamp from Sugar Nellie! I'm starting to really branch out and find other stamps I love and these Manga ones are SOOOO cute! The rest of the card features the rest of my TE December Key Ingredients kit (am I done with it yet? It's been a LONG time!).

I love how this image makes it look as though she's sitting on a windowsill!  Which reminds me - I really need to order more dimensional adhesive! *lol*

A day like today deserves a card post.

It is a BEAUTIFUL day outside, yet I'm indoors with the kids. Just waiting for DH to wake up from his nap (he works nights) so we can spend the rest of the day partying it up and celebrating J's buddy's birthday - he turns the big THREE. :)

Anyway, I got a chance photograph a couple of cards so I didn't want to leave y'all hanging for the weekend.

Isn't she adorable?! A couple of weeks ago I had a moment of weakness and decided that I *NEEDED* more Sugar Nellie stamps - this time, the MANGA ones. So with credit card in hand (well, actually, in MIND since I have it memorized now. So bad. *lol*) I bought a few.

And I don't regret it!

This April Showers Manga is super adorable, don't you think? Perfect for the funky weather we've had lately - sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it rainy... I wish Mother Nature would make up her mind! *lol*

I've been also REALLY using up my Taylored Expressions March KI kit too - I've got 2 more cards to show later next week!

It's been a funky week this week so excuse me for not chatting it up in the post. I hope to be back to normal tomorrow.

Today's card features Sugar Nellie's Bumble Bee Gorjuss Girl. It's been a while since I've inked up my Gorjuss Girl stamps and I thought it was about time! I thought I'd give a different color combo a try and color her blue and green instead of my mainstay of pink and green. I really like how the combo turned out, don't you?

I also used my SU! cardstock and retired DSP scraps and it felt SOOO good. I love how using my scraps makes me feel - like I've put my supplies to good use!

To finish off the card, I added some Star Dust Stickles to her wings and the sentiment is from SU!'s Chit Chat Rub Ons.

Ok, maybe I'm not so witty. *lol*

Who watched last night's 20/20 episode with Rhianna? I have to admit - I'm not a huge fan of Rhianna or Chris Brown. And the incident between the 2 of them back in February left me speechless - he beat HER up? And she WENT BACK to him? What kind of examples are they setting?

I watched the interview out of curiousity...to see what she had to say. I kind of feel bad for her...for both of them, actually. She revealed A LOT about that night back in February. I think if he's able to rise from it now that she's done this interview, it will be a surprise. Only time will tell, I guess.

Anyway, in brighter news, here's my card for today:

Super simple card - my favorite! I used Taylored Expressions' October Key Ingredients kit for the CS, DP and ribbon. The image is from an image swap back in August from SCS - I think it's a Sugar Nellie image. It took me a while to work up the nerve to finally color this image! It was really intimidating having so much area to cover. I'm still experimenting with where the light comes from and shading and stuff. I colored her up with my Copics and I'm really happy with the way she turned out. :)

So what do you have planned for the weekend? Today I'm hostessing a Pampered Chef party so I'm super excited! I LOVE kitchen gadgets. :) And I'm super excited to get a Tool Turn About to keep my Copics in. (If I find where the link is, I'll come back and let you know!). But yes, I do love to cook and bake and gadgets are my weakness. So excited for today's cooking show and eating some yummy food!

Before I go here's a survey my BFF tagged me with so I better fill it out! *lol*

1. My childhood ambition: a doctor. but I think my earliest memory was that I wanted to be a famous singer.

2. My retreat: having a few hours of just straight CRAFTING time uninterrupted... with something playing on the TV, of course (right now I'm watching old episodes of Dawson's Creek! *lol*) No phones. No one crying in the background. No one looking for me. *sigh* sounds so fabulous just thinking about it.

3. The perfect day: Spending it on a vacation with my family - either Disneyland or Hawaii... And then coming home to a very clean and clutter-free house. *lol*

4. My first job was: a video store clerk.

5. My wildest dream: Carl and I would actually compete in The Amazing Race and WIN.

6. If my life was a musical it would be called: get back to me on that one. It's a toughie! (And I have Tarzan playing on the TV. It's kinda hard to think right now. *lol*)

7. My proudest moment: receiving my acceptance letter into Nursing school and getting a job after I graduated. My wedding day. The moment my kids were born (in no particular order of amount of proud-ness, just going in order of when things happened.)

8. My favorite item of clothing: my Ugg boots.

9. I feel ready for the day when I: eat breakfast and Jonah does too.

10. I COULD live without: a new purse... but it's too fun shopping for them!

image swapping!

I discovered image swaps via SCS a couple months ago... I was hesitant to join one - at the time, I didn't have a lot of stamps to use to swap and the one swap I had participated in over 10 years ago left me feeling blah. It was a Sizzix die cut image swap via 2Peas and I swapped out a few die cut images and got a bunch of funky ones in return. Since then I said no way to swaps!

But then I discovered the rubber stamping and card making world. Image swaps? Wow, what a cool concept. I don't have to buy a bunch of stamps and store them? I can get different images already pre-stamped for me? I just only have to pay for mailing to and from? SOLD!

Today's card is from a Sugar Nellie swap I participated in a few months ago.

At least I *think* it's a Sugar Nellie image (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! I have all my image swap images tucked in ziplock bags!). I thought it's perfect for the upcoming holiday season - can you believe Costco had Christmas decorations for sale already in SEPTEMBER?! I'm SO not ready yet!

Anyway, this card is based off of a sketch at Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C7). Love their sketches! Cindy's the best! :) I have a feeling I won't be able to brave the malls this holiday season so I might be giving gift cards instead. I better start stockpiling my Christmas cards to give away!

In other news....

I was thinking of listing my stamp inventory here on my blog so if anyone thinks this is a great idea, feel free to leave me a comment here or email me so this can HAPPEN!! Serious swappers only, please. It only takes one time for me to get burned and I'll be done... Just sayin'! :) I have a ton of TGF stamps, I'm starting to build my Taylored Expressions cuppies collection... I also have quite a few C.C. Designs stamps, 6 Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girls, a few Stamping Bella Kettos and Lulus... As you can see, I'm an equal opportunity stamper! *lol* I'm always on the lookout for some Magnolia stamps (I only have 2 Tildas), more Gorjuss Girls... I'm starting to like Hanna Stamps' Riley. He's just too cute!

I was worried I wouldn't be able to post today. Tonight begins yet another 3 night stretch of work for me (don't worry, I have posts prescheduled! *lol*)

Jonah has been pretty active lately now that his bout with the flu is over. And my almost-6-month-old Malia is quite the handful now that she's discovered CRAWLING (not super coordinated yet, but homegirl can get herself from point A to point B in a FLASH when we're not looking! We swear she thinks she's older than she really IS!)

So my beloved craft time is slowly dwindling. I try to sneak in coloring or cardmaking everyday, but with 2 kids under 3, I'm LUCKY if both are napping at the same time and when that happens, I've got chores around the house to do, phone calls to return, DVR I need to catch up on, or sleep I sorely miss.

My next request from my DH is a TV in my craft room (complete with a DVD player and DVR hook up! Too many fall shows that I need to keep up with!

I had a chance to play along with Mojo Monday's sketch this week and was super happy with the results! I would have used circles, but ovals were speaking to me this week. (And my scallop oval Nestabilities set just came in the mail and I hadn't used them yet! *lol*)

And I used my BFF's wedding colors too for this card. (Whattup, Corinne! *lol*)

Isn't this Gorjuss Girl so cute? I really love this image. I really need to start using my Sugar Nellie stamps more!

In other news... I recently discovered Dustin Pike's digital stamps. The images are SO cute! Well, his stuff is getting turned into rubber so he's having a HUGE blowout sale on his digital stuff! $25 for 130 images! See the details HERE.

Ooh and I got  my  first Key Ingredients kit from Taylored  Expressions yesterday! I'm so bummed I have to work all weekend. :( I really want to play with it!

Your Next Stamp 1st Design Team Call!

Well, I'm probably late, but I'll give it a shot anyway! I found this new stamp company via my girl Ashley's blog and I thought I'd give it a try! Your Next Stamp's images are super adorable and they'd go great with my ever-growing Copic collection!

The only problem is that I found out about this DT call quite late - just today. And I've been so tired and stuff, I didn't get a chance to post my submission to my blog. The deadline is today!

Technically, where I am, it's only 11:30pm or so... so I'm not quite late... But I probably am.

So you may have been wondering how I've been able to post every single day! Two kids, a husband, AND back to work full time - how do I do it, right?

The answer is simple - it's all about Typepad.

I've actually scheduled posts for the past 6 days. I did this for a couple of reasons.

1. I'm back to work full time and with going back to work comes sleeping at odd hours, working 3 nights in a row, etc. I wanted to have a post everyday so I don't lose blog viewership! It's YOU who keeps my mojo flowing!
2. I had a stack of cards that I needed to post but never had a chance. Now that I preschedule posts, I can post a card a day. (And for the month of August I haven't missed a single one!)

So there you have it. :) Kinda neat, eh?

And...on to today's card:

This might be a recent favorite of mine. It uses Bumble Bee Gorjuss Girl by Sugar Nellie. One of my favorite color combos is pink and green. In fact, I kind of regret not using it for my wedding almost 5 years ago... ALMOST regret it. Don't get me wrong - I like the intensity of a deep red and I'm glad it was our wedding color, but there's something fun and girly about pink and green, don't you think?

For some reason, I feel like I have a hard time with square cards. Does anyone out there know if postage is different for mailing square cards versus A2 sized cards? A long time ago I heard that postage was more because of the odd shape. Machines at the post office can handle rectangular cards but not square ones so those are hand-canceled. I could be totally wrong. I have no idea where I heard this from.

Anyway, today's card features Up Up & Away Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie. Cute, right? I love how she's clinging onto that balloon as it carries her through the clouds... Hmm... I have a card idea in my head now. *lol*
